Jets Game

Do most Yankees fans root for the Giants and most Mets fans root for the Jets?

I'm just asking your opinions on this becuase I'm a Yankees/Jets fan and I've noticed that most Yankees fans are Giants fans. I guess because the Giants used to play at Yankee Stadium. I do see a lot of Yankees hats at Jets games though and I have a lot of friends that are like me. But I've never met a Mets/Giants fan.

1. Hard to tell. I'm a Yankee fan and I'm also a die hard Eagles fan. (My South Jersey upbringing). My uncle is a Mets fan but is also a Giants fan. My father is a Yankee fan and also a Tampa Bay Bucs fan. Go figure! You just never know about the other sports and who ends up rooting for who.
2. My experience has been the opposite. The 2 people that i know are both Giants fans. Majority of the Yankee fans i know are Jets fans. I'm a Sox and Pats fan, so I think they all suck.

9. Mets and Jets fans do tend to be from Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens while Yankees fans are more common in the Bronx and Manhattan. I'm not sure of the geographical distribution of Giants fans, although I'm pretty sure that Mahattanites are more likely to root for the Blue.

11. I think that's the way it goes more often that not. Myself, I'm a Mets fan and a Bills fan. But I don't live in NY city. I live in Rochester, so Buffalo is a lot closer to me than NY. Sorry I probably didn't help too much, but I agree with your observation.

14. Not always but allot of the time: Yankees' fans root for the Giants. Mets' fans root for the Jets. That's not always the case, but that is how it works out normally. My uncle (he is in his 90's and in better shape than most 30 yr olds) has been a Yankees' fan since Babe Ruth played for them, literally, and he can tell you every stat for every Yankees to ever play the game, and he is just as big as a Jets' fan as he is a Yankees' fan. Maybe it has to do with the fact the Giants played at Yankee Stadium and the Jets played at Shea.
