Why is Jets QB Mark Sanchez's eating a hot dog during a game a big deal?
I'm a little confused as to why this has made the news. He seemed really embarrassed by it, although I don't think I've ever seen an NFL player eat on the sidelines during a game. If the Jets had lost then I wouldn't be surprised to hear about how "unprofessional" it is, blah blah. Are there rules that state the players are not supposed to eat on the sidelines during games?
Public Comments
- it's not
- That is just the media making a mountain out of a mole hill again. They are pretty good at it.
- Because the game was so boring...It was visibly noticed... http://ballhype.com/video/jets-qb-mark-sanchez-eats-hot-dog-during-raiders-vs/
- I've wondered the exact same thing. He was eating...it's not like he was video taping the opposing sideline. The media tends to blow things out of proportion if you haven't noticed already. Like you said, if the Jets lost Sanchez never would've heard the end of it. Doesn't eating give a player energy anyway?
- The media likes to stir up controversy. They say it's showing no respect for your opponent to have a picnic while you're kicking their a@@. Hey it was the Raiders though, no one respects them.
- Because it gives the haters something to talk about! Its not a big deal!If he was eating a powerbar or something like that it wouldn't be a big deal. There are no rules saying a player can't eat on the sideline.
- its cuz they get paid millions of dollars to look play and act professional. And it makes the team look sloppy. But i have nothing against it
- Hot dogs give you aids. So he obviously shouldn't have been promoting that by eating one on national television.
- Who cares, its a hotdog for christ sakes,What if he was sipping on a beer?
- Personally I have no problem with it. I think the media only does because it isn't considered "Game Food".
- I am already taking bets as to when Tom Brady is going to drop the ball for the New England Patriots once again. Who else can have an undefeated season and go on to lose the Super Bowl? Pats must be the worst team in the history of the NFL.
- It's not. @Zeke Tom Brady drop the ball? Are you joking? You mean when he led his team on what should've been the GW TD with 2 min. to play? Brady doesn't play Defense and it was the Pats D that choked. Brady saved them.
- Mark Sanchez did nothing wrong eating that hot dog on the sideline.Leave the man alone. Anyone who doesn;t like what he did is mentally retarted. Is our country and world really this bad that a man has to apologize for eating a fricking hot dog? really?? Please get me out of here. this is a sad society we live in.whoever covered and spread this story should be fired. This shouldnt even be mentioned as news.
